How we work

Hybrid in Minneapolis, or remote in the US.

Our studio is at 125 North First Street in the North Loop, a short walk from the river. Most of the team comes in Tuesday through Thursday. Remote teammates anywhere in the United States are welcome, and we fly everyone in four times a year to cook together and test the product on real recipe boxes.

We are a Pre-Seed company that has raised $850,000. That means real salaries, meaningful equity, and a small team where your work ships in days, not quarters. Salary ranges below are for the role across the US, in US dollars.

Engineering · Hybrid or US remote

Founding ML engineer, handwriting and speech

You will own how Kitchenlore reads and listens: evaluation sets built from real (consented) cards and memos, routing across vision, speech and language models, and the checks that keep every quote honest. You have shipped document understanding or speech systems to real users, you write careful TypeScript or Python, and you care more about a measured error rate than a demo.

You likely have

Built and measured OCR, handwriting or speech pipelines in production
Comfortable designing evals and reading the failures by hand
Treats a wrong quote as a bug, not a style choice

Equity 0.5% to 1.0% · Full time

Design · Hybrid or US remote

Product designer, print and illustration

You will design the family book on every surface: the reading view on a phone, the shared book, and the 6 by 9 print edition. You will work with our illustrators on the library and the house style. You know type, you have opinions about running heads, and you have shipped product, not only pictures of it.

You likely have

A portfolio with both product work and print or editorial work
Fluent in typography, grids and the details of a printed page
Happy to test with families at a real kitchen table

Family support lead

You will be the person who answers when a family writes to us, often about someone they have lost. You will run help@ and care@, write the help centre, and bring what families tell you back to the team every week. Patience and plain writing matter more than any tool.

You likely have

Several years in customer support, ideally for a consumer product
Writes clearly and kindly, and knows when to pick up the phone
Comfortable with grief in the inbox
