Corrections and additions to the present edition

  1. Edition

    Print-ready edition

Heirloom books can now be exported as a print-ready PDF: a 6 by 9 inch interior with bleed, ready for any print-on-demand service.

    • Title page, table of contents and a chapter opener for every chapter, set in the same serif as the app
    • Every recipe as a spread, with its illustration, method and In her words notes
    • Family fills print with the name of the person who made them; unfilled spots print as [hard to read]
    • The reading PDF on every plan now uses the same typesetting, at screen size
    See the print edition
  2. Hearing

    Voice memos in any language

Memos are now transcribed in the language or languages spoken, including memos that switch between two in the same sentence.

    • Hindi and English, Spanish and English, Norwegian, Tagalog, Gujarati and many more, kept as spoken
    • A short note under each recipe says which languages it holds
    • Nothing is translated unless you ask
    • The full transcript stays beside the recipe, with the memo itself

  3. Family

Family fills for [hard to read] spots

Anyone with the contribute role can now fill a spot Kitchenlore could not read, from memory, signed with their name.

    • Tap any [hard to read] mark in a recipe to fill it
    • Fills are signed with the contributor's name and set in a different mark from the original
    • The original reading is never changed, and a fill can be corrected later by any contributor
